When she recognizes the missing woman, now calling herself Donna Marsh and running a bait shop, Claire begins a quiet investigation that reveals not a crime but a survival. Donna fled her father, Walter Pollard, in 1994 and has built a complete life under a new identity. When Claire discovers Walter's nature and learns he has been tipped off, she must choose between closing the case as solved and protecting the woman who was never actually missing.
